Im doing decimals greatest to least and i need help with number 12 and 13
erma4kov [3.2K]

(I know there isnt any real problem here to solve, but heres a tip on how to solve greatest to least with decimal problems)

1. Just because a number looks big, doesn't mean it is big

Example: 1.00000000000001 < 1.1

just look at the numbers ^ and dont just hastily read it over assuming that 1.1 is smaller because it "has less digits"

2. Negative numbers are... opposite. and they are less than positive numbers

-3.4 > -4.1

Why is this? Well, if you look on a line, with the point 0 in the middle, you can see that -3.4 is not as far away from 0 as -4.1 is. So the idea is to apply opposite logic for negative numbers

I hope these tips helped!! :D

Evan spent 20 hours doing homework last week. This week he spent 25 hours doing homework. He says that he spent 125% more time d
ahrayia [7]

Answer:

yes he is correct. he spent 125% more time

Step-by-step explanation:

his original time spent  was 20 hours

he spent a new time which is 25 hours

increased time = 25- 20 = 5 hours

% increase = increase/ original ×100%

%increase = 5/ 20 ×100%

= 1/4 ×100%

= 25%

total increment = 100 + 25 =125%

a cell phone company charges an initial price of $400 for a new phone and then $50 each month after the purchase. if c (t) is a
Fed [463]

The range of the function, c(t), where the fixed cost is $400 and the monthly charge is $50 is <u>{$450, $250, ... }</u>.

<h3>What is the range of a function?</h3>

The range of a function is the complete set of all possible resulting values of the dependent variable (y) after substituting the domain.

Thus, the range is the resulting y-values after substituting all the possible x-values (domain).

In this instance, the range of the function tells us the monthly average cost.  We can see that as the months increase, the monthly average cost continues to reduce.

<h3>Data and Calculations:</h3>

Fixed initial cost = $400

Monthly charge = $50

C(t) = 400 + 50x

Domain, x = 1 to 12 (months)

Range, y = {(400 + 50), (400 + 50 x 2)/2,  (400 + 50 x 3)/3,  (400 + 50 x 4)/4, ...  (400 + 50 x 12)/12}

=  {$450, $250, ... }.

In conclusion, the range of the function, c(t) is <u>{$450, $250, ... }</u>.
