Similar to the main character in Pilgrim’s Progress, each girl makes a promise to change a flaw to be a better “little woman” wh
maks197457 [2]

This question is about the book "little women"

Answer and Explanation:

I identify most with Beth March, as she has a personality very similar to mine. Beth is quiet and shy, she is somewhat anti-social, but she likes to be with people who know how to develop a good conversation. In addition, Beth is not very fond of doing housework and does not believe that this is the obligation of women, as I think. In addition, she cares about the feelings of others and does not want to make anyone sad, which is the characteristic very similar to me.

Among the girls, the one I least identify with is Meg, I do not share her romantic ideals, nor her position on the role of women in the world. I don't think she's wrong, but I believe that we have different personalities, but that they could get along well.

In the poem marriage is a private affair, why does nnaemekas father at first resist meeting his grandchildren
GalinKa [24]

Answer:

He refused to meet his grandchildren for he is of the opinion that his son, Nnaemeka had gone against his will in marrying a girl from another tribe.

Explanation:

Chinua Achebe's short story "Marriage Is A Private Affair" tells the story of the protagonist Nnaemeka's conflict with his father after he decided to refuse his father's choice of his wife and instead married a woman from another tribe.

His father had first suggested a woman from the same tribe to be his wife but he refused, insisting that he didn't love her and he's already engaged to another girl from the Nene tribe. Even after years of marriage couldn't bring the father to forgive his son. But the letter sent by Nene to him at the end of the story, telling him of how the children wanted to meet their grandfather, was enough to stop his hard heart from being arrogant as usual. He did not want to deny the children anymore, questioning in his mind "<em>How could he shut his door against them?</em>". Thus, the refusal of Nnaemeka's father to meet the children was his initial anger and resentment of his son's refusal to marry a girl of his choosing and instead marrying someone from another tribe.

Name one context in which you would use informal (non standard) English?<br>
Nady [450]

Answer:

A context in which I would use informal English to communicate would be with my friends or my family group, that is, in a non-academic environment where the idiomatic expressions used to communicate are those of common speech, with a flat and non-specific language, and lacking of formalities or hierarchical structures within the syntax.

Thus, informal language avoids the use of unusual idioms, given the relative familiarity between the sender and receiver of the message.
