Answer:

What we can notice about the structure is:

A. Alternating lines are about the same length and all end with a dash.

Explanation:

"Hope is the Thing with Feathers" is a poem by Emily Dickinson.

Dickinson uses dashes as punctuation with the purpose of breaking the flow, modifying it. We can see that all four lines end with a dash instead of a period, a comma, or any other sort of punctuation.

We can also notice that the alternating lines are about the same length. That is, lines 1 and 3 are similar, and so are lines 2 and 4. Let's put them together to better visualize it:

1 “Hope” is the thing with feathers —

3 And sings the tune without the words —

2 That perches in the soul —

4 And never stops — at all —

Which sentence is punctuated correctly?
Vaselesa [24]
The correct answer is actually D), not A.
Although these are independent clauses indeed, the punctuation in A,B, and C is not correct.
Before 'however' there needs to be a semicolon (;). And after however, you have to put a comma. Therefore D is the correct answer.
After a comma there needs to be a pause in reading. Does A sound correct to you if you make a pause before 'however' and not after it? Of course not.

Is the following passage capitalized correctly?
Lunna [17]
The following passage is NOT capitalized correctly. In the first sentence, the name Jim Hawkins and the book title Treasure Island are capitalized correctly. In the second sentence, the name of the pirate Long John Silver is correctly capitalized; however, the name hawkins is not. Hawkins is the name of the main character. It is classified as a proper noun and therefore, the first letter should be written in a capital letter.
