Opening paragraph: Introduce Xinjiang, Chechnya, and Quebec. In this paragraph, tell me about each of these conflicts in a sente
Zolol [24]

Xinjiang, Chechnya, and Quebec are all regions that want or wanted to be independent, and because of that entered in a conflict with the government.

Explanation:

Xinjiang is a province in China, which wants to separate because of its distinct cultural traits. Chechnya is an autonomous region in Russia, which engaged into wars with Russia in order to gain independence, mostly based on religion. Quebec is a province in Canada that tried to gain independence from Canada on numerous occasions through referendums.

Xinjiang wanted to gain independence from China, and the people were openly supporting this. The Chinese government though didn't tolerated this and acted quickly in order to put things under control. The military entered the province and effectively suffocated every attempt of thought about independence.

Chechnya wanted to gain independence from Russia mostly because of its distinct population and religion. Lot of Chechen people engaged into war with Russia, and they were led by religious extremists. Russia stoke with full power and destroyed the Chechen army, as well as the Chechen cities and villages.

Quebec is a province in Canada. It is a province that has French culture and population, unlike the rest of Canada. The people, led by the local authorities have organized several referendums in order to gain independence, but the Canadian high court has stated that they are not legal.
