Which statement explains why president Andrew Johnson had little influence over reconstruction policy during his term of office
enot [183]

A.) The Thirteenth, Fourteenth, and Fifteenth Amendments had been ratified by the time Johnson became president.

B.) The Radical Republicans in Congress had enough votes to override President Johnson's veto of Reconstruction legislation.

C.) The Reconstruction policy had been put into place after Lincoln's death before President Johnson took office

. D.) The operation of Reconstruction policy was directly controlled by the military governors who were in charge of the former Confederate states.

If I'm correct I would say B because Andrew Johnson, was a southerner. As you can imagine this bitter irony was not lost on the Radical Republicans who hated him even before he was President. Johnson proposed a plan similar to Lincoln's. Suffice it to say, congress was not amused. The relationship between Lincoln and Congress soured quickly.

alexandr1967 [171]
The labor question or labor problem was a concern in the late 19th century correlated to the life of the middle class in regards to working conditions, wages, and job security. By the second half of the 19th century, the United States was already well into the industrial revolution. This bought immense changes to work opportunity as big business profited more from increased production by machine and cut into workers opportunity who may be replaced by machine.

The middle and lower class workers responded by organizing unions and protesting through both peaceful and violent means. Eventually, government acts such as the fair labor standards (1938) created a minimum wage and the Department of Labor was created in 1913 for the purpose organizing and overseeing better conditions for workers

Which of the following is not something a state government can do? decide how its legislature is organized decide what textbook
Bogdan [553]

State governments cannot create a state navy.

All defence policy, including the ability to have and maintain armed forces, is the responsibility of the national government.

However, there is such a thing as State defense forces (SDFs), which are military units operating under the authority of a state governor. Most states have laws allowing SDFs, and nearly half of them have such active forces. They are usually army forces, but there are also some air and naval units.
