English
1 answer:
astra-53 [7]3 years ago
3 0

Answer:

Ball 1 is moving at the fastest speed.. This is because Ball 1, at 100cm distance takes a time of just 10 seconds to cover the distance of 100cm. This is the fastest speed because:

Speed= Distance/Time

Ball 1= 100cm/10= 10 (speed)

Ball 2= 50cm/20= 2 1/2 (speed)

Ball 3= 100cm/20= 5 (speed)

Ball 4= 50/10= 5 (speed)

Therefore Ball 1 has the greatest speed overall.

Answer:

The line is a metaphor for:

B. A life without dreams.

Explanation:

Let's take a look at the poem:

Hold fast to dreams

For if dreams die

Life is a broken-winged bird

That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams

For when dreams go

Life is a barren field

Frozen with snow.

As we can see above, in the first stanza the author compares life to a broken-winged bird after mentioning the death of dreams. What the author means is that a life without dreams is as purposeless as a bird that cannot fly. Dreams are what makes life worth living, what gives us a sense of purpose. Without them, there is no reason to go on.
