Read this assignment. Plan a speech in which you encourage students to attend the students versus faculty basketball game. What

is an effective hook for this assignment? Albert Einstein Middle School has hosted a student versus faculty basketball game for eleven consecutive years. Our faculty are basketball enthusiasts, and two of them played basketball at the college level. The gym will be packed to the rafters as students try to outwit their teachers and score a slam-dunk victory. Our eighth graders will wear the Einstein Middle School team uniforms, while the teachers will create a uniform of their own.

Read this excerpt from Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun in which Ruth and Mama discuss Walter's refusal to take Lindner'
meriva

Answer: B. By having Ruth feel pride toward Walter after her initial indifference, the author leaves the reader feeling satisfied with their relationship.

Walter has been a complicated character throughout the play. Unhappy with his financial situation, he is desperate to improve it, at the same time as he is ashamed because of his inability to provide for his family. This leads him to make bad financial decisions that only leave the family in a worse situation. This has also taken a toll on his relationship with Ruth. However, in this scene, we see Walter has changed, and Ruth has noticed. She is extremely proud of him, which implies that their relationship will survive.

What are some examples of direct and indirect characterization in “the cast of amontillado”
Novosadov [1.4K]

The direct characters in The Cask of Amontillado are Montresor (the first-person narrator) and the ironically-named Fortunato, his inadvertent enemy. No one else appears in the story, but reference is made to several indirect characters.Luchesi is a man known to both Montresor and Fortunato. He has a reputation as a connoisseur of wine and is therefore a rival to Fortunato in this respect. Fortunato contemptuously dismisses his expertise, but this may be mere bravado. Montresor uses repeated references to Luchesi as a form of reverse psychology to lure Fortunato into the vaultMontresor's disobedient servants are also mentioned. We do not know how many there are, but the fact that he has several makes us question his claim to be a ruined man. He has expressly told them to stay in the house and is cynically certain that this is the way to ensure their departureLady Fortunato is mentioned by her unfortunate husband. She will be waiting, in company, at the palazzo.
