Answer: The Cyclops prays to his father, Poseidon, that if Odysseus returns home he would do so without his crew, in a stranger's ship, and that he would find trouble in Ithaca.

Explanation: "Here me, thou girder of the land, dark-haired Poseidon! If I am truly thine, and thou art called my father, vouchsafe no coming home to this Odysseus, spoiler of cities, Laertes' son, whose home is Ithaca."

Which theme is clearly evident in these lines from the passage?
pogonyaev
In my opinion, from this excerpt, the only thing that can be seen is "suffering". He had absolutely nothing in his youngest years, he was as poor as a church mouse, but not only that, he apparently had nobody to be there for him. To me it shows a great deal of pain and sadness, and that is evident in this paragraph.

Elise built a rectangular vegetable garden that is 9 feet long and has an area of 72 square feet.
tia_tia [17]
You have to understand first that perimeter equals the length (9 ft.) X2 plus the height X2. In this case, the area of the rectangle is 72 ft, so divide 72 by 9 to get 8, which is the width. Plug this number back into the perimeter formula and you get 34.
