Their strategy:. Avoid defeat until the Americans gave up

While the United States held a tremendous advantage in funding and firepower, the North Vietnamese and the Viet Cong held the advantage of fighting for goals they believed in and knowing how to hold their ground in Vietnamese territory. They did not have to gain a conclusive victory over the USA in its support of South Vietnam, only hold out until the American side determined the war was no longer worth what it cost in dollars and lives.

The roles of women as pioneer were to serve as wives,mothers, and housekeepers. These pioneer women had it impossible to be able to escape. At this job they were to work with men as partners to bring food to their youngsters. Women's pioneer life was not so dangerous and hard. Living as a pioneer brought domination qualities of each individual. As a result women learned to become independent of themselves at an early age it also taught them to face many consequences life brought. The pioneer women had the most important part on the frontier, and that is why we believe that the strongest people were in fact the pioneer women. The role of the woman was wife, mother, helpmate of her husband and the homemaker. It would stay this way for many years to come. By the year 1869 when the first transcontinental railroad was finished, over 350,000 pioneers had taken the Oregon Trail to start a new life. Many of these were women and most were accompanied by children. Laura Ingalls Wilder was one of these women, and she even wrote a book describing her experiences as a young pioneer woman. Other women like Annie Bidwell, did more than just write books. She founded the entire Sancramento Valley society. She also helped with gaining women suffrage, or the right to vote. Wyoming was the first state to declare that women had the right to vote, and others followed suit. She was even friends with Susan B. Anthony, the woman that helped with getting women around the country the right to vote. And also, Laura Ingalls helped with the temperance movement, which was a movement to stop the drinking of alcohol.

During the 1800's slavery began to increase in the West. The North worried that the states that allowed slavery would take over Congress if these new territories joined the Union as slave states. If the West joined the Union as free states, slave states would be outnumbered in Congress by free states, so Southerners began demanding that slavery should continue in the western states. Arguments over slavery in the new states helped bring on the Civil War which was fought from 1861 to 1865. Slavery was abolished in the United States in 1865.

1. Although Steve Jobs was a great visionary, he is also cited to be a bully. He had an uncanny capacity to know exactly what your weak point is, know what will make you feel small, to make you cringe.

2. He reportedly took credit for ideas that were not his. " when told of a new idea, he will immediately attack it" and if it was a good one, "he will soon be telling people about it as though it was his own".

3. He wasn't a very good team player and is also said to have a very destructive behavior.

4. His legendary impatience, relentless quest for perfection, domineering presence and obsessive need to control fostered as much as fear within the Apple culture. Steve Jobs is also often described as smug, willful, brazen, demeaning, volatile and manipulative.

5. He was not a model boss or human being, tidily packaged for emulation. Driven by demon, he could drive those around him to fury and despair.The environment under Jobs was not good. There are multiple accounts of his temper flaring and causing him to fire random employees for minor reasons, terminate important business relationships, and cause executives to resign after altercations that include personal attacks.

6. It is reported that the Apple iPod Nano may have a faulty screen. The company has commented that a batch of its product has screens that break under impact, and the company is replacing all faulty items. This is in addition to problems with early iPods that had faulty batteries, whereby the company offered customers free battery cases.

7. There is pressure on Apple to increase the price of its music download file, from the music industry itself. Many of these companies make more money from iTunes (i.e. downloadable music files) than from their original CD sales. Apple has sold about 22 million iPod digital music players and more than 500 million songs though its iTunes music store. It accounts for 82% of all legally downloaded music in the US. The company is resolute, but if it gives in to the music producers, it may be perceived as a commercial weakness.

8. Early in 2005 Apple announced that it was to end its long-standing relationship with IBM as a chip supplier, and that it was about to switch to Intel. Some industry specialists commented that the swap could confuse Apple's consumers.
