Geography

Marine waters cover 70.8% of the earth’s surface. And, if we substract the 5.5% area of the continental shelf, 65.3% of the earth’s surface is occupied by continental slope and rise, and deep-sea parts (data after Dietrich and Kalle 1957). The deep sea can be subdivided into several topographical units. There are deep-sea grabens (15 in number), which cut deeper than 6,000 m. Deep-sea grabens are restricted to tectonic active regions near the foot of continental slopes.

What major geographical advantage does agriculture in the Coastal South have over most other regions of North America
kicyunya [14]

Answer:

The region is largely frost-free so many frost intolerant crops can be grown.

Explanation:

The Coastal South in North America consists of cities like Florida, Texas, and North Carolina. This region is known for the exceptional agriculture that occurs there. The nature of their soil is not the cause of this, rather it has a lot more to do with their climatic conditions which range from the time of the last frost in spring to the beginning of the next frost in fall. So, this allows for about nine months of intensive agriculture.

Frost is ice which is mostly seen on the surface of the soil. It is quite difficult for many plants to survive the harsh condition imposed by frost. So the lengthy number of days and months without frost in the Coastal South gives it a great advantage over compared to many other regions in North America.

Why does the moon appears to be less bright than the sun despite its very close distance to Earth.
sattari [20]

Answer:

The moon only seems bright in the night sky because it is so close to the earth and because the trees, houses, and fields around you are so dark at night. In fact, the moon is one of the least reflective objects in the solar system.

Horizontal variations in air pressure cause a force which makes the wind blow. These pressure variations are caused by a. warm t
timofeeve [1]

Answer:

The pressure gradient causes the air to move horizontally, forcing the air directly from a region of high pressure to a region of low pressure. The Coriolis force, however, deflects the direction of the flow of the air (to the right in the Northern Hemisphere) and causes the air to flow parallel to the isobars.
