social media affects a student in school in a multitude of ways. it can be beneficial in giving a student the opportunity to connect with peers all around the globe which can open up the opportunity for discussion and other viewpoints. however, it can also be harmful by giving false perceptions of reality that other people portray making them self conscious and being prone to anxiety of social situations.
