Which of the following sentences are examples of indirect characterization? Check all that apply.. .
Anna11 [10]
The correct answer is A. What a character does. and C. Where a character lives.

These are examples of indirect characterization because they don't reveal things directly, but rather the reader has to understand the hidden meanings and infer what the character is actually like.

QUESTION 1 DOK 2
8090 [49]

Answer:

In fact, Benvolio shows a peaceful temperament, as he tries to prevent fights between Mercutio and the Capulets from happening.

Explanation:

Benvolio and Mercutio are characters in the play "Romeo and Juliet" written by Shakespeare, which tells the story of forbidden love between Romeo and Juliet.

The love between the two is forbidden because they belong to enemy families, Romeo is the son of the Montague family while Juliet is the daughter of the Capulet family.

Benvolio and Mercutio are friends of Romeo and show very different behaviors. Benvolio is very calm and peaceful and tries at all times to avoid fighting for him and even his friends, as you can see when he tries to prevent Mercutio from fighting with Tybalt and other capulets. But all this peacefulness does not convince Mercutio, who claims that Benvolio is as short-tempered as any other man.

APX 3.4.4 TEST UNIT 3!
Sonja [21]

Answer:

Based upon this excerpt it seems as if Emperor Qian Long feels his culture is quite different and maybe even superior to the English culture so much so that an English envoy sent to learn about Emperor Qian Long's culture would be there in vain.  This is so because he states that his culture is so different that even if the envoy is "able to acquire the rudiments," there are intricacies such as manners and customs that give the rudiments meaning, and customs and manners could never be transplanted.  As such, it would be pointless to even to begin to try acquire or even learn about Emperor Qian Long's culture.
