Answer:

Ultimately, the native americans were wiped out by disease and warfare. Although native americans did sometimes trade with the new settlers, many native americans were forced off their land by these settlers as well.

Because these settlers brought over diseases that native americans did not have immunity too, millions of native americans died as well.
