dusya [7]

Answer:

It establishes a sympathetic mood.

Explanation:

The main purpose of having this dialogue in the play is to establish a sympathetic mood. In this excerpt, we learn that Mrs. Linde has arrived to visit Nora. We also see the way Nora behaves around her. She is kind and thoughtful. She asks questions, worries about Mrs. Linde's comfort and appears genuinely happy to see her. All of these factors contribute to the development of a sympathetic mood.

Which four lines in this excerpt from Stephen Crane’s “An Episode of War” show that there were poor medical facilities during th
lukranit [14]

The correct answers are; 1.) The drivers were tossing the blame of it back and forth, gesticulating and berating, while from the ambulances, both crammed with wounded, there came an occasional groan. 2.) Great numbers sat under the trees nursing heads or arms or legs. 4.) Sitting with his back against a tree a man with a face as grey as a new army blanket was serenely smoking a corn-cob pipe. The lieutenant wished to rush forward and inform him that he was dying. 6.) His voice contained the same scorn as if he were saying, "You will have to go to jail."

Further Explanation:

This excerpt is from the short story "An Episode of War." The short story was written by a man named Stephen Crane. The book is set in the American Civil War era and the book begins with a war scene. The short story was originally published in 1890.

The excerpts that were chosen shows how the patients were not cared for like they would be in a normal hospital setting. They were under trees with wounds and no one to help them. The wounds were not bandaged and could be infected by the germs or get particles in the wounds. In the ambulance, there were to many people in the back and they were being thrown around which could further cause injury.

The doctor spoke to the lieutenant with contempt and looked at his wound out in the open with nothing to even clean the wound with. There was also the saddest line where the dying man was sitting alone under a tree with only his pipe and a blanket to comfort him.
