andreev551 [17]
The Democratic Party was one for the people but contained a large southern population.

The Democratic Party in particular those outside of the South wanted to fight for Civil Rights as blacks were part of the "commoner/worker" base the party had focused on since the turn of the 20th century. How did president obama's judicial appointments affect the composition of the u.s. supreme court?
Vlad1618 [11]
President Obama made numerous judicial nominations in federal courts. However, only two of his nominees were confirmed earlier on in his first term. While his appointees have been greatly influential in the appellate courts, Obama's Supreme Court appointees didn't shift the balance of the court from deeply conservative to liberal as Obama would have wished.

goldenfox [79]
Hey the answer is
Simply, the working conditions were terrible during the Industrial Revolution. As factories were being built, businesses were in need of workers. With a long line of people willing to work, employers could set wages as low as they wanted because people were willing to do work as long as they got paid.
