Prostitution became associated with disease after World War I. The reason for this is that during the war prostitution was widespread. It is estimated that during the war nearly 400,000 soldiers were infected and treated for venereal disease.
John Adams suggested that George Washington should be commander-in-chief of the Continental Army. He proposed Washington because he thought he was a skilled gentlemen and a born leader. Hope this helps :)
