Answer:

I think that Hanasaki Jijii faces a lot of internal conflict. For example every time that the wicked old man asked him for something, Hanasaki Jijii would sometimes not want to help him with whatever it was but would still say yes because of his great heart. After the wicked old neighbor had killed Hanasaki Jiji's dog Shiro, he would still do a lot of bad things to Hanasaki Jiji just out of pure jealousy. Shiro's spirit would still help Hanasaki Jiji and he gave him a lot of money making him rich through some ashes that could make dead trees blossom.

1. Which sentence expresses a primary theme developed in the passage?
horsena [70]

Answer: C. a relationship needs more than routine.

Explanation:

This question relates to short story, The Egyptian Tomb by Beatriz Espejo. In it we see a mother and daughter who have a routine Tuesday custom of going out to eat.

Inferences made in the passage show that both women are not particularly happy with the way this meeting keeps going as it feels like a mere routine that they abide by each time. This shows that for a relationship to truly be intimate or to have meaning, it needs to be more than just a routine that people get bored of and always look forward to an end of.
