Europeans made advancements in gunpowder and they created more armies since gunpowder training was much easier than swords and the older weapons. They had plenty of resources from training with other nations at the time and due to the silk roads, some europeans were able to be immune to foreign diseases like the bubonic plague. Also, people in the americas did not embark on trading with other nations so they did not have that much advancements.
