1 point Which text evidence below best supports your answer about Mama's character traits in "The Bracelet"? a. Mama was taking

one last look around our house. She was going from room to room, as though she were trying to take a mental picture of the house she had lived in for fifteen years, so she would never forget it. O b. I was scared, and for a minute I thought I was going to lose my breakfast right in front of everybody. I guess everybody else was scared, too. O c. I wanted to run back down the track and go over every inch of ground we'd walked on, but it was getting dark and Mama wouldn't let me. d. But he needn't have run off, because Mama didn't cry. She just went out to borrow a broom and began sweeping out the dust and dirt. Will you set up the cots?" she asked.

How do the ants prepare for a mass crossing of the moat?
Ad libitum [116K]

Thanks for posting. I hadn't thought of it before.

The quick answer to this is that they gather leaves to make boats. As a science major, I'm a little doubtful this would work. Those ants covered acres and acres and their size though relatively small, were huge compared to other ants. The surface tension of water with a leaf might be enough to accommodate 20 ants, but that was a spit in the bucket.

Further, this implies that the ants were discriminating enough to stop eating the vegetation (which is the central conflict of the story) and decide that they had to forestall their appetite so they had leaves to cross. Even if they were capable of such higher lever mental abilities, there likely were not enough leaves around to accomplish the crossing.

All of that just so I could answer A

sweet-ann [11.9K]

Answer:

Find the actions below.

Explanation:

1. Buddy's friend was excited at the arrival of the weather which ushers in Christmas. She refers to it as the 'fruitcake weather' and goes ahead to bake thirty cakes.

2. She finds it difficult to count money. So, when there was a disparity between her and Buddy about whether the money they counted was $12.73 or $13, she rather opted to throw $1 away because of her dislike for anything that was thirteenth.

3. When shouted upon by their two relatives for feeding the seven-year-old Buddy with Whisky, she reacted like a child by crying and running into her room.

The above scenarios are instances where Buddy's friend who was about 60 years old exhibited characters that showed that she was 'still a child'.
