Not so much about gods and goddesses but about reign and wealth. think about marie antoinette and Louis XVI they lived such a glorious ornate life where the government was still royalty who came from god. (they’re sun gods or gods decedents that were brought to earth to rule)

the architecture was HIGHLY ornate with loads of gold and movement. the decor was flowing and full of energy. the architecture was almost theatric and very very very grand. EXAMPLE the palace of versailles
