Explain why the Japanese treated their prisoners of war so badly

History

Answer:

This is because of Japanese military culture at the time. This culture was far from displaying mercy to anyone. Their are even similarities between the Japanese army and the Nazi's SS, who saw the ideal as a cult and that everyone who is weak must perish. The Japanese did not only limit their "no mercy" culture on enemy forces, but on civilians as well. They never understood the concept that there needs to be a balance between well treatment and what they did, because this will ultimately get more out of the prisoners.

Debora [2.8K]
During the period between 1775 and 180, many African Americans gained freedom from slavery, yet during the same period, the institution of slavery expanded. The changes took place in different locations in the United States of America. The Northern states opposed slavery while the Southern states still enforced slavery. Many African American slaves managed to escape from the South to the North where they were freed from slavery. The freed African-American slaves spent their time working towards helping the slaves in the Southern states escape towards the North. The slaves in the South were forced to work on the tobacco and cotton plantations. They bided their time  until they were able to escape.

How did Alexander gain control of all of Greece??????
TiliK225 [7]

Alexander The Great as he was known, was and excellent, sophisticated military leader considered by many historians as a genius.  Thanks to his greatness, Alexander the Great was able to practically changed the nature of the ancient world by himself in less than 10 years.

When he was in front of his armies he commanded them by example. The fact that he considered himself to be indestructible made him gamble, and  take extreme risks with his own life as well as the soldiers he lead.

He was born in July of 356 BC in  the city of Pella which was the capital of Macedonia at the time. Also and most importantly,  he was educated by the great philosopher  Aristotle. After his father assassination Philip II in 336 BC, young Alexander took control of the kingdom his father left. Unfortunately, the kingdom was in a very precarious and volatile situation which he quickly was able to put under control by defeating all of those who opposed him at home. Later, he went on to conquer and control the entire Persian Empire.

Thanks to all of these attributes of courage, ingenuity and self confidence,   Alexander the Great was able to control and maintain a firm grip on Greece and the whole Persian Empire.
