Two possible quotes that show the theme of how little things can make a big difference in "A Sound of Thunder" are provided below.

  • "With a stamp of your foot, you annihilate first one, then a dozen, then a thousand, a million, a billion possible mice!"
  • "Not a little thing like that! Not a butterfly!" cried Eckels.

<h3>What is theme?</h3>

The theme of a story is the message or lesson we can learn from it. It is the most important idea underlying everything the characters do. In the short story "A Sound of Thunder," a theme is that little things can make a big difference.

That theme is clearly shown in two moments. First, when Travis is explaining to Eckels that, while in the past, they should be careful not to kill even a little mouse. He explains that killing one would mean that millions more would never be born. In consequence, any animals that depend on eating those mice to live, and the animals that feed on those animals, and so on would never exist. The quote is:

  • "With a stamp of your foot, you annihilate first one, then a dozen, then a thousand, a million, a billion possible mice!"

Another moment is when Eckles realizes he has changed the present by killing a little butterfly. Now, everything is different - society, government, everything:

  • "Not a little thing like that! Not a butterfly!" cried Eckels.

It is our conclusion that the two quotes above are clearly related to the theme.

Which sentences contain a restrictive or nonrestrictive relative clause? Check all that apply. -- comment what letters apply
Mumz [18]
The sentences, which contain restrictive relative clause are options A, B AND D.
Restrictive relative clause refers to those clauses which start with relative pronouns, such as who, that, which, when, where, etc. A restrictive relative clause gives information about the noun which it refers to while a non restrictive relative clause will not give information about the nouns it refers to.
The restrictive relative clause in option A is 'W<span>hich took Miah months of saving money to buy'.
The restrictive clause in option B is 'T</span><span>hat Kameron has had since he was ten years old'.
The restrictive relative clause in option D is '</span><span>whose parents recently opened the restaurant across the street'.
These relative restrictive clauses give more information about the nouns they are referring to.</span>

write a letter to the PTA chairman of your school discussing at least two ways of ensuring health needs of students in the schoo
Galina-37 [17]

Answer:

G - 69/268,

Florida,

14th September 2020,

The PTA Chairman,

ABC International School,

Florida,

Sub: Regarding ways to ensure the health needs of the students

Dear sir,

With great disappointment, I would like to draw your kind attention towards the carelessness of your school towards the health needs of the students. The quality of food that has been provided to the hostel students is extremely poor and unhygienic making them ill. A healthy diet is very crucial for the physical and mental growth and development of students. Thus, it is an immediate need and suggestion to have a constant check and supervision of the quality of food that is being served to the students.

The unavailability of proper medical facilities in the sickbay to the students is another serious concern. This is leading even the common cold and other illnesses to go severe which is preventing the students from studies for a longer time than required. It may further go serious and therefore, I request you to ensure appropriate provision of health infrastructure for the care of students' health and fitness.

Thanking you,

Yours sincerely,

Sophie Godefroid.
