The novel is following her perspective between thirty-two years elapse where the readers can follow her growing from a young girl and mother to a great personality woman. In the beginning, she was devastated because of her father's death and she was feeling like she cannot raise her children, Gogol and Sonia. She wanted to give them more but she couldn't.
