King Louis XVI propose solutions to his government's financial problems by calling a meeting of the Estates-General. The purpose of holding the Estates-General meeting in 1789 was to look on increasing debt. The debt led the monarchy and the government to raise taxes. The implementation of new taxes led to discontent among the people of the Third Estate because they had to pay more taxes in France.
It was "<span>D. Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia" that the United States supported in order to resist Communism spreading in the region. This was under the umbrella of the Truman Doctrine. </span>
