(GIVING BRAINILEST) Read the passage. Then evaluate the need for a solution and consider each solution suggested. Which solution
do you think is more likely to be successful? Explain your reasoning. People traveling to an island accidentally introduced mice into an ecosystem that previously had no mice. The population of mice quickly grew out of control. It started harming populations of native plants and birds. Scientists offered two solutions. One was to introduce cats to the island. The cats could hunt and eat the mice. The other suggestion was to introduce a disease that could infect the mice and reduce their population.
Read the assignment carefully and make sure you answer each part of the question or questions.
After you've written your response, go back and read it again to make sure your thoughts are clear.
I would introduce the cats if it is a suitable environment for them. I say this because the disease could kill much more species than just mice. That could ruin the whole ecosystem by killing animals that are necessary for the ecosystem to function.
I think both solutions would work but you need to be careful. solution one is a good one but they also could grow out of control. solution two could kill every animal on the island. So i think it would be best to bring the cats in just to be safe.
The St. Lawrence seaway helped because it was large enough to allow shipping transportation to the USA. Which allowed Canada and the USA to trade goods. The seaway extends from Montreal through the Welland Canal in Ontario, Canada, to the eastern portion of Lake Erie.
