Should the voting age be lowered to 13? (Topic)
lara31 [8.8K]

Reason A: Because they are the foundation for the future

Reason B: They need to be more responsible and so giving them the right to vote at an earlier age could make them start being responsible earlier on in life rather than later on (maybe you can find a percentage of teenagers who would like to be able to vote at a younger age)

Reason C: They should be allowed to vote at an earlier age only if they can pass a test showing that they actually keep up with polictics (like elective parties, people who are running for new positions, etc.)

What is the motif in the excerpt?

 • In the excerpt we are analyzing here, Juliet describes the night as a romantic, caring figure. As a matter of fact, she associates the images of Romeo and the night when she says her beloved Romeo should become the stars when he dies.

With the information above in mind, we can choose letter B as the best option concerning the motif of night.

The excerpt this question refers to is the following:

Juliet: Come, gentle night; come, loving, black-brow'd night,

Give me my Romeo: and, when he shall die,

Take him and cut him out in little stars,

And he will make the face of heaven so fine

That all the world will be in love with night,

And pay no worship to the garish sun.

Why does Dr. Livesey narration seem calmer & more methodical than Jim's story? How does a character's personal attitudes, va
AlexFokin [52]

The main reason why these two narrations appear to be so different from each other is because the characters themselves are extremely different. On the one hand, we have Dr. Livesey. Dr. Livesey is a well-respected, knowledgeable man. He has an air of authority that makes him respectable in the eyes of Jim. He is also practical and pragmatic. These characteristics are reflected in his narrative. On the other hand, Jim is still quite young, and because of this, he is quite immature. Although he matures and changes throughout the story, his narration still exhibits the qualities that identify him. His story is more adventurous and intense than that of Dr. Livesey.
