Answer:

33-15=18 cm of water was gone in 6 min. so it’s draining 3cm/min.

She still has 15cm left to drain at 3cm/min. Is 5 more min. Total=11min.

Or 33 cm divided by 3 min=11 min

Isaac is working as a security guard. He earns $8.45 an hour. He earns double time for any overtime over 40 hours. Last week he
andreev551 [17]

Answer:

$405.60

Step-by-step explanation:

If Isaac works for 40 hours will earn $8.45×40=$388. Since he worked 4 extra hours, he will earn $8.45×2×4 since he worked 4 extra hours. $8.45×2=$16.90, which is the amount he earns for every extra hour he works. $16.90×4=$67.60. Now if we add $67.60+$388=$405.60.

Hope this helps!

A $9,000 principal is invested in two accounts, one earning 7% interest and another earning 9% interest. If the total interest f
iVinArrow [24]

Answer:

The amount invested at 7% is $1,400 and the  amount invested at 9% is $7,600

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x ----> amount invested at 7%

(9,000-x) -----> amount invested at 9%

we know that

The interest earned by the amount invested at 7% plus the interest earned by the amount invested at 9% must be equal to $782

so

The linear equation that represent this problem is

0.07(x)+0.09(9,000-x)=782

solve for x

0.07x+810-0.09x=782\\0.09x-0.07x=810-782\\0.02x=28\\x=\$1,400

(9,000-x)=9,000-1,400=\$7,600

therefore

The amount invested at 7% is $1,400 and the  amount invested at 9% is $7,600
