I consider graphic design art because people are still the ones that are making the art. Whether it be using an art program and a drawing tablet or design software and animating, a person is still using their own creativity and imagination to create things.
I would consider graphic design art because the definetion is "graphic design is the art, profession and academic discipline whose activity consists in projecting visual communications intended to transmit specific messages to social groups, with specific objectives."
