Adolf Hitler came to power with the goal of establishing a new racial order in Europe dominated by the German “master race.” This goal drove Nazi foreign policy, which aimed to: throw off the restrictions imposed by the Treaty of Versailles; incorporate territories with ethnic German populations into the Reich; acquire a vast new empire in Eastern Europe; form alliances; and, during the war, persuade other states to participate in the “final solution.”

7. During the final year of the war, US rescue efforts saved tens of thousands of lives. In the spring of 1945, Allied forces, including millions of American soldiers defeated Nazi Germany and its Axis collaborators, ending the Holocaust.

this made them very angry, and because of the unfairness of it, other countries felt a bit guilty. this let Germany get away with things that normally would NOT be allowed. it established a policy of tolerance. This allowed Germany to gain a LOT of power by doing what they wanted, and by this time, it was difficult to stop them without rocking the boat and creating a second world war.
