The 5th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States simply means that an individual cannot testify against himself or herself when there a criminal case.
Furthermore, it states that once an individual has been tried in the court if law before, then the person cannot be subjected to a second trial since the person has been tried earlier.
Lastly, it states that no individual shall be deprived of their life or their freedom without the required process of law taken and that if a private property is to be taken to be used for public use, there'll be a compensation for it.
