Light energy cannot reach the chloroplasts, preventing ATP, NADPH and sugars because light energy is responsible for photosynthesis in algae. if light energy is not available to algae, then no photosynthesis happens and as a result no energy produced in the form of ATP, NADPH and sugars in the body of algae. so we can conclude that light energy is responsible for the preventing of production of ATP, NADPH and sugars.
