Hypothesize how the chromosomes of the parents would look compared to the chromosomes of their child?
marysya [2.9K]

During fertilization, the encounter of gametes results in the fusion of their nuclei. The nucleus of the egg cell thus formed is therefore a mixture of the two nuclei.

So the parent will only give half of his chromosomes, so the child will have 50% of his chromosomes that resemble each of his parents.

Another factor that must be mentioned is the genetic recombination between the chromosomes that occurs during meiosis of the reproductive cells. Thus, this will give a heterogeneous chromosome resulting from recombination of the two chromosomes of each of its parents, and the child will have a unique combination chromosome but keeping the alleles of both parents.

3 Explain why the average height of students is increasing in many parts of the world.
denpristay [2]

The average height of people in different nations has has increased approximately by 10 centimeters.

It mostly comes down to nutrition and child-rearing styles.

Some scientists believe that the increase in teenage and out-of-wedlock pregnancies in the developed world may be an unanticipated consequence of improved nutrition.

Tobacco smoking greatly increased over the last hundred or so years, but the old wives' dictum was always that "Smoking will stunt your growth!"

Hope this helped have a good day = ) .

LekaFEV [45]

Answer:D.D.) Suspend the cells in liquid agar culture and monitor which culture continues to grow.

Explanation

Options A-C are correct except D.

→Increase in Telomere length is indicative of abnormal growth, cancer cells can reactive telomerase to increase cell's length.

→Once a monolayer is reached; this a stage of a complete normal cell division , a cell that goes beyond this stage must be mutated. assuming all other factors are constant .

Uncontrolled cell division is an indication of virulent growth in mutated cells.

Cancer cell requires a ,medium of living host to thrive, alga medium will not support growth for carcinoma cells -the correct answer.

:Imagine that you are a graduate student working in a cancer lab. You accidentally mix unlabeled tubes of carcinoma cells with tubes of normal epithelial cells. Which of the following is NOT a possible strategy to allow you to distinguish which tubes contain carcinoma cells?

A.)Monitor telomere length over time during multiple cell divisions.

B.) Plate the cells in culture and look for the culture that stops dividing once a monolayer is reached.

C.) Monitor the rate of cell division.

D.) Suspend the cells in liquid agar culture and monitor which culture continues to grow.

A partial dislocation or misalignment of a joint is known as what?
lesya [120]
A partial dislocation or misalignment of a joint is known as subluxation

This is when a joint slides out of position but can slide back in on its own. This is different to a luxation (or full dislocation) where the joint completely comes out and has to be put back in with human assistance.

I hope this helps! I'm happy to answer any other questions you might have :)
