When I was little, Grandma always played with me. She taught me how to dance, and she made beautiful clothes for my dolls. She w

as my special friend, but I had no idea just how special until I was in ninth grade.
Since my family did not have much money, I knew I would never be able to buy a great dress for the school dance. That did not stop me from dreaming, however. Many nights, after I had finished my homework, I would sketch the “perfect” dress. I kept all the sketches on my bedside table. I guess I figured that was a good place to store impossible dreams.

One Monday, Mom and Grandma agreed that we should start shopping for my dress. I dreaded shopping for it; I knew I would face a big disappointment when I found nothing close to my “perfect” dress. Nevertheless, we decided that we would shop for my dress on Saturday. That Friday night at dinner, Grandma seemed unusually cheerful as she asked, “What's cooking, Natalie?”

When I replied, “Not much,” she sang out, like a happy little bird, “Oh, Natalie! I have a surprise,” and reached under the table to pull out a huge, flat box. When I opened it, I gasped and burst into tears.

Grandma had made my “perfect” dress! When I looked over, I saw that she was crying, too. “I'm sorry,” she said, now laughing. “I was so worried it wouldn’t be what you hoped for,” she said. “I love it,” I said and gave her a hug.

Answer:

If by paragraph4 you mean the: When I replied, “Not much,” she sang out, like a happy little bird, “Oh, Natalie! I have a surprise,” and reached under the table to pull out a huge, flat box. When I opened it, I gasped and burst into tears. Then the answer is Simile

Explanation:

"She sang out, like a happy little bird"

The key word was LIKE, which shows that it is a simile. It compares her singing out and the song of a happy little bird.

How were the rights of Jews living in German-occupied countries limited by the naziz?
Hitman42 [59]
The Naziz didn't allow them to leave the area and they weren't aloud to be out at a certain time of day or night. Jews had something like the quarrying act except the Naziz didn't live with them but the Jews were required to let the Naziz search their home with or without a warrant.
