From what I'm gathering, this is a short story about a young girl who is about to leave her home due to her parent's employment. She goes to the river bank that runs through her hometown. She had great memories at this fiver (likely why she went there. Because shee'd miss it) But she starts ro thinks about  her future and what it could hold for her in new state in which she was moving. She then  returns home, seeming a lot more positive about the move.
