The experience of a crush can shape a person in many ways. It can affect the way they think and live on a daily basis. But it can also lead to overthinking and frustration.

You'll want to impress or get their attention in some way. So you 'improve' yourself in some way; whether it's getting fitter so going to gym, trying out a new look, taking up a hobby (maybe the same as them), stepping-up your career or productivity to look desirable to them.

Either you'll get their attention and something might happen, or they aren't interested and you move past it.

No matter what, you'll feel better about yourself as you look better/healthier, have a new (hopefully enjoyable) hobby etc. so if you don't get them, you'll be a better version of 'you' than you were before them.

Not sure if this answers your question, there's more emotional and mental ways that it can shape you too - in my experience that side's mostly negative, so I focused on the positive ways instead.
