A boy kicks a ball in the air. The height y (in feet) above the ground of the ball is modeled by the equation y=-16x^2+80x, wher

e x is the time (in seconds) since the ball was kicked. Find the roots of the equation when y=0. Explain what the roots mean in this situation. Can you please helpe me

The roots of the equation are at x=0 and x=5.

To solve this, we will factor the quadratic.  Both terms are divisible by 16x, so we will factor that out:

0=16x(-x+5)

Using the zero product property, we know that either 16x=0 or -x+5=0.  For the first choice, dividing both sides by 16 will give us x=0.

For -x+5=0, we will subtract 5 from both sides, giving us -x=-5.  Dividing both sides by -1, we have x=5.

The interpretation of the roots is the times when the ball hit the ground.  At x=0, this is before it is kicked.  At x=5, this is when the ball falls back to the ground.

Will the point of the arrow in Figure Bhave the same angle measure as the point of the arrow in Figure A? Explain your answer.
inn [45]

Rotation being a rigid transformation, does not alter the angle and side lengths after transformation.

The arrow in Figure B will have the same angle measure as Figure A

From the complete question (see attachment), we understand that:

Figure A is rotated 90 degrees clockwise around point (2,2)

Rotation is a rigid transformation

This means that: after the transformation

  • Figure A and figure B will have the same side lengths
  • Figure A and figure B will have the same measure of angles

The above highlights imply that, the arrow in Figure B will have the same angle measure as Figure A

You roll two dice 88 times how many times do you expect to roll a sum of seven
AysviL [449]
There are 6 ways to roll a sum of seven with two dice. There are 36 possible outcomes total, therefore the probability of rolling a seven is 6/36 or 1/6 simplified. Multiplying 1/6 by 88 gets you 14.67 or 15 rounded
