Answer:

A hook is something that captures the attention of the reader.

A conclusion paragraph summarizes the essay and is basically like the introduction, just without repeating.

A writer uses a bridge statement, or bridge sentence, to link one idea to another and create a smooth transition between ideas.

The thesis statement has 3 main parts: the limited subject, the precise opinion, and the blueprint of reasons.

A good paragraph should contain at least the following four elements: Transition, Topic sentence, specific Evidence and analysis, and a Brief wrap-up sentence (also known as a warrant) –TTEB!

What is relevant about the fact that the sign "quavers under a film" of water at the beginning of the story?
Archy [21]

Answer:

Bradbury´s opening uses the literary device of personification by granting a human trait (the capacity to tremble because of weakness) to a non-living thing (the sign on the wall). This sentence also works as a foreshadowing element, as it sets the mood for something going wrong.

Explanation:

Furthermore, it relates to a later metaphor about time being "a film run backward." In the end, the protagonist finds himself trembling because of his weakness, his incapacity to go through the film of time without causing trouble.

What central idea is explicitly stated in the paragraph?
Yakvenalex [24]

Answer:

Depends on what the paragraph has written. "Explicitly stated" means directly from the text. Usually, looking at the first and last sentence of a paragraph gives you the claim and conclusion sentence, so these will be most helpful in determining what the central idea is.
