Minorities have become quicker than the white population.
This has been true in the United States since the 1960s.
The immediate effects are easy. Miles of city would be leveled and all inhabitants of that area would be almost instantly killed. The long-term effects would be there would be so much radiation your body could go through nasty mutation and you'd need to be treated if you survived but if don't survive you'd have a long agonizing death. Also all neighboring cities would have radiation surging through them.
If Apollo 11 had failed the shock would have been immense as a man on the moon was a goal that every American held in their heart, it would of demoralized everyone, think of it like challenger but worse. NASA would get a man on the moon very soon after as they would be forced to tweak the rocket
African Americans left their low paying jobs as agricultural laborers and domestic servants in the south to work in the high paying jobs in meatpacking, shipyards, and steel mills they found in the north.
A second reason was to escape the segregation they experienced in the south.
