Goods from Western and Central Africa were traded across trade routes to faraway places like Europe, the Middle East, and India. What did they trade? The main items traded were gold and salt. The gold mines of West Africa provided great wealth to West African Empires such as Ghana and Mali.

The Indian Removal Act of 1830 was supported by Andrew Jackson, the act forced members of Native American tribes to leave their lands in the East and relocate further West.  Most Whigs also opposed this legislation. However, three of the five tribes did NOT favor the legislation because they welcomed the opportunity for westward expansion. The Indian Removal Act of 1830 led to the forcible removal of Indians form the Southeast which can be considered ethnic cleansing and was not supported by the Native American tribes themselves.
