How did life change for American women in the 1920's?
velikii [3]

women took jobs and dominance in the family during WWI. when soldiers returned from the war, they were looking for a good time, not the "old structure" of society. women responded, joining men in speakeasies, increasing sexuality for instance, shorter skirts, higher divorce rates, drinking, smoking, etc. also, single women could live alone in apartments in cities and work for a living for the first time.
