Answer:

Before going to war with the Empire of Japan in 1941 the United States put an Oil embargo on Japan to stop further territorial expansion. During the war after Pearl Harbor, the Islands of Midway were going to be attacked until American forces found out the Japanese plans. During the Naval battle of Midway America had sunk four aircraft carriers which significantly hurt the Japanese Navy and put them on defense changing the tides of war.

N76 [4]

Answer:

A. Gonzales

Explanation:

Revolutionary Texans had only formally announced their independence from Mexico 11 days earlier. On March 6, 1836, the separatists chose Sam Houston to be the commander-in-chief of the revolutionary army. Houston immediately departed for Gonzales, Texas, where the main force of the revolutionary army was stationed. When he arrived, he found that the Texan army consisted of 374 poorly dressed and ill-equipped men. Most had no guns or military experience, and they had only two days of rations.

what does bethel mean when he writes, " if the creoles had one eye on their masters, they kept the other on their servants"?
andrew-mc [135]

Answer:

The answer is below

Explanation:

According to Leslie Bethell in his work "Why did the Creoles lead the revolutions in Latin America?" The statement "if the creoles had one eye on their masters, they kept the other on their servants, " implies that the Creoles fully understand the delicate situation of the colonies in which every group was constantly looking for power to override one another.

The masters are the penisulares: the Spanish settlers, while the servants are the mestizos, mulattos, Africans, and other Indian groups. The Creoles wanted to gain and retain political power in the colonies.
