I would say that the man in to build a fire had the most difficult conflict to face because he literally died from his conflict and in The Moustache, The hardest thing Mike had to do was whether to tell his grandmother that he wasn't her husband or to just follow her role. In The Story of the Old Man Who Made Withered Trees to Flower, the dog did die, but his spirit help the old man a lot by giving him a fortune.
