The West Roman Empire formed a government called the republic, which consists of rules and regulations to rule an empire with its people.

Explanation:

The Byzantine emperors devoted toward Christianity, also continue Roman imperial rule and tradition in the empire. Moreover, Byzantine society became deeply Christian.  In the Roman Empire, Pope remained independent and maintained the secular power, especially in politics. The Byzantine emperor appointed the Patriarch and changed doctrinal teaching. Doctrinal disputes and religious differences from the Roman Catholic to the Orthodox Church permeated the Byzantine Empire to be unique in Europe.
