Sancho is the peasant who decides to follow Don Quijote. Throughout the story, he is where a lot of the humor comes in and he speaks in Spanish proverbs.  

Explanation:

They were loyal to each other, even though Sancho was kind of greedy and he wanted money.  But, I am sure you can understand why he would desire money so that he could no longer be considered a peasant.
