In the last lesson, you researched an explorer after watching a video on exploration. In this part, you will begin crafting an a

rgument about exploration.
First, you need to review the elements of an effective argument.

An argumentative essay is a short work in which a writer presents a position and supports it with reasons and evidence. The purpose is to persuade readers to think a certain way about the topic. An effective argumentative essay contains these elements:

claim, or statement of a position
clear, convincing reasons that relate to the claim
evidence, or facts and examples that support the claim
a clear organization, including an introduction, a body, and a conclusion
transitional words and phrases that make the relationships among claims and reasons clear
a concluding statement or section that follows from the ideas presented earlier in the essay
a formal style that takes the subject and reader seriously
error-free grammar, including accurate use of verbs
The assignment is worth 20 points in all.

Which excerpt from the "General Prologue" of The Canterbury Tales tells us that the knight had been part of the Crusades, milita
schepotkina [342]

Answer:

From the lines that are available in the question, the ones that describe more explicitly his participation in the Crusades are:

“This self-same worthy Knight had been also

At one time with the lord of Palatye…”

Here he is described as having served the lord of Palatye. Palatye is the Middle English version of the word Palathia. Palathia was a Christian fief in Asia Minor (modern Turkey). When the Crusaders went to Asia Minor on their way to liberate the Holy Land from Islamic invaders, they established several Christian lordships along the route in order to protect Christian pilgrims from Europe on their way to Jerusalem. Palathia was one of such lordships and it was located in Asia Minor, in what had been part of the Christian Byzantine Empire and had been invaded and conquered by Muslim Turks.
