Answer:

Putting aside some known major problems of increasing population like unemployment, inflation, high cost of living, power shortage, our country is facing many unnoticed and ignored peripheral outcomes of over population, such as food and water shortage, noise pollution, increased government debt, high consumption. Several factors are responsible for the rapid growth: a drop in mortality rates, a young population, improved standards of living, and attitudes and practices which favor high fertility.

How does Lord Capulet’s angry reaction to Juliet’s refusal to marry Count Paris address the theme of family?
IceJOKER [234]
Lord Capulet's angry reaction to Juliet's refusal to marry Count Paris addresses the theme of family because it showed what little choice Juliet had when it came to wanting to marrying him . He did not care about Juliet's happiness but his own and the fact that Juliet felt and knew this pushed her to make the choice to run away and the overall ultimate choice that she made at the end of the story .

How does the characterization of the children create satire? They are curious about what is in the garden. They are pleased to l
____ [38]

This question is missing the excerpt. I've found the complete question online. It is as follows:

Read the excerpt from "The Storyteller."

"Why weren't there any flowers?"

"Because the pigs had eaten them all," said the bachelor promptly. "The gardeners had told the Prince that you couldn't have pigs and flowers, so he decided to have pigs and no flowers."

There was a murmur of approval at the excellence of the Prince's decision; so many people would have decided the other way.

How does the characterization of the children create satire?

Answer:

The characterization of the children create satire because:

B. They are pleased to learn that the prince chooses pigs over flowers.

Explanation:

A satire exposes the difference between our beliefs and reality. In the short story "The Story-Teller", by Saki, the satire comes from the situational irony presented in the bachelor's story. The bachelor is traveling in a train wagon with three children and their aunt. The aunt tells them a story with the purpose of teaching them a moral lesson. To her disappointment, the children find the story boring.

The bachelor begins to tell a story himself. Unlike the predictable story told by the aunt, his story is filled with surprises and ironic incidents. Instead of teaching kids that they should be good, he teaches them that being too good may be an awful thing. The children's characterization in the excerpt creates satire because they are pleased to learn the prince in the story chose to have pigs instead of flowers. Their reaction contradicts what society would expect of them. It goes against what the aunt - a representative of society - thinks is appropriate. They are not pleased by what is right or good - they are pleased by what is entertaining.

Thinking about the emergence and collapse of civilizations throughout history, what do you imagine to be the greatest risks our
saul85 [17]

Answer:

From the collapse of ancient Rome to the fall of the Mayan empire, evidence from archaeology suggests that five factors have almost invariably been involved in the loss of civilizations: uncontrollable population movements; new epidemic diseases; failing states leading to increased warfare; collapse of trade routes. Ancient Rome had a large influence on the modern world. Though it has been thousands of years since the Roman Empire flourished, we can still see evidence of it in our art, architecture, technology, literature, language, and law. Social stratification refers to a society's categorization of its people into rankings of socioeconomic tiers based on factors like wealth, income, race, education, and power.
