The picture can be divided into 2 same triangles and one rectangular.

The triangle areas is {1/2 *base * height}*2 (because 2 same triangles)

and you need to sum rectangular area (width * base).
The result will be area of 2 triangle +area of rectangular.
=2(1/2*base of triangle* height)+ (base of rectangular * height)
= (base of triangle* height)+(base of rectangular * height)
=(base of triangle +base of rectangular)*height

b1 is top length
b2 is bottom length, and so

Base of triangle =(b1-b2/2)
Base of rectangular =b2
Height =h
Thus A ={(b1-b2/2)+b2 }*h
A= [(b1+b2)/2]*h

The ratio of the radii of two distinct spheres is 3:4. what is the ratio of their respective surface areas?
Naya [18.7K]

Hey , here is the answer to ur question.....!
Given: Radii is in the ratio 3:4
To find : ratio of Surface area of the two distinct spheres
Solution: Surface area of a sphere =4* pi *r^2
=>(3/4)^2=9/16
Therefore , the ratio of the areas of teh two distinct spheres=9:16
Hope this helps u!!!!!!.........

Answer:

Resultant is 50 mi/hr in the north east direction

Step-by-step explanation:

Plane is traveling north east at 150 mi/hr.

Now a wind is blowing from the south west at 100 mi/hr.

Now, north east and south west are directly opposite directions and such the angle between the resultant speed of the plane in flight and the wind will be;

150 - 100 = 50 mi/hr

Since the north east speed is greater than the south east speed, then the direction will be north east.

Thus, resultant is 50 mi/hr in the north east direction

Answer:

16.93 m

Step-by-step explanation:

The triangle for the given scenario is shown below.

From the triangles \Delta ABC and \Delta ABD,

AB is the pole height, BC or BD is the distance of either of the wire guys from the foot of pole, and \angle C or \angle D is the angle that each either of the guys make with the top of pole.

Let the distance of either of the wire guys from the foot of pole be x.

Now, consider \Delta ABC.

Given: AB = 9 m, BC = x, and \angle C=28°.

Using tan ratio of the angle C, we get

\tan (\angle C)=\frac{AB}{BC}\\\tan (28)=\frac{9}{x}\\x=\frac{9}{\tan (28)}=16.93

Therefore, 16.93 m away from the foot of the pole are the guys anchored.
