Find the value of each trigonometric ratio

Mathematics
1 answer:

The value of each trigonometric ratio is

$\sin A=\frac{15}{17}, \ \cos A=\frac{8}{17},  \ \tan A =\frac{15}{8}

$\csc A=\frac{17}{15}, \ \sec A=\frac{17}{8},  \ \cot A =\frac{8}{15}

Solution:

The given triangle is right triangle.

AC (hypotenuse) = 34, AB (adjacent) = 16, BC (opposite) = 30

<u>To find the trigonometric ratios:</u>

Using trigonometric formulas for right triangle,

$\sin \theta=\frac{\text { opposite }}{\text { hypotenuse }}

$\sin A=\frac{BC}{AC}

$\sin A=\frac{30}{34}=\frac{15}{17}

$\cos \theta=\frac{\text { adjacent }}{\text { hypotenuse }}

$\cos A=\frac{AB}{AC}

$\cos A=\frac{16}{34}=\frac{8}{17}

$\tan \theta=\frac{\text { opposite }}{\text { adjacent }}

$\tan A=\frac{BC}{AB}

$\tan A=\frac{30}{16}=\frac{15}{8}

$\csc A =\frac{1}{\sin A}

$\csc A =\frac{17}{15}

$\sec A =\frac{1}{\cos A}

$\sec A =\frac{17}{8}

$\cot A =\frac{1}{\tan A}

$\cot A =\frac{8}{15}

Hence the value of each trigonometric ratio is

$\sin A=\frac{15}{17}, \ \cos A=\frac{8}{17},  \ \tan A =\frac{15}{8}

$\csc A=\frac{17}{15}, \ \sec A=\frac{17}{8},  \ \cot A =\frac{8}{15}

Find volume of the foam
Roman55 [17]

Answer:

35 cubic feet

Step-by-step explanation:

127 137

If you divide the foam into 2 rectangular prisms, you will get a rectangular prism with dimensions of 1 * 2 * 7, and another prism with dimensions of 1 * 3 * 7. You find the separate volumes of each, and get 14 ft^3, and 21 ft^3. You add these together to get 35 ft^3

Out of a total of 10 college textbooks estimate the standard deviation of their ages if the oldest textbook is known to be 7.9 y
tamaranim1 [39]

Answer:

Given that the maximum age of the textbook is 7.9 years and the minimum age of the textbook is 1.3 years.

Using the range rule, the standard deviation is estimated as,

S≈maximum−minimum/4

=7.9−1.3/4

=1.65

The required value of the approximate standard deviation is 1.65.
