Can someone explain to me what is incorrect about my writing? I got a D- and I am confused as to what I did wrong.

J'ai besoin de ma famille, de mes amis et de mes chats ==> correct

J'ai besoin de ma famille parce qu'elle est importante. (une famille = fem.) see below at the end for explanations

J'ai besoin de mes amis parce qu'ils sont sympas. (sympa should be invariable but many people write it at the plural form... so I don't know what you learned ????)

Et j'ai besoin de mes chats parce que je les aime. ==> correct

Then it's hard to understand what you really meant ....

Je veux l'intelligence, la patience et plus de chats.

Je veux l'intelligence parce que je ne suis pas intelligente.

Je veux la patience parce que je suis impatiente.

Et je veux plus de chats parce que les chats sont beaux.

I corrected the few mistakes, but do you really want to say "I want" or "I would like"... In that case, you should vrite "Je voudrais" instead of "Je veux"

I wrote exactly what you did, I didn't try to change anything. You just forgot the determine articles, an a after "intelligent", and a partitive after "plus" "plus de chats" and you did a mistake in the 2nd sentence.

- You didn't choose the right article = J'ai besoin de ma famille parce qu'elle (ma famille) est importante.....
