Answer: The vast preponderance of the evidence shows that the death penalty is no more effective than imprisonment in deterring murder and that it may even be an incitement to criminal violence. Death-penalty states as a group do not have lower rates of criminal homicide than non-death-penalty states.

A death penalty can be looked at like an end from the consequences.

Explanation:

Based on the severity of what the criminal has done, they deserve to be punished. Their actions have consequences. Those people need to feel the pain they put others through.
